HarperLloyd Recruitment is partnering with a well-regarded national commercial litigation firm to appoint a Debt Recovery Paralegal into its growing Financial Services team in Brisbane CBD.

This role will focus on secured and unsecured debt recovery matters, acting for banking and commercial clients from initial instruction through to enforcement and resolution.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Paralegal, Law Student or someone with a background in insolvency or litigation looking to broaden their legal experience.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with experienced solicitors across a varied debt recovery caseload, gaining exposure to the litigation process while taking ownership of your own matters.

The role will involve managing files from initial instruction through to enforcement, drafting key legal documents and liaising with clients, debtors and courts.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing secured and unsecured debt recovery matters from instruction through to resolution
• Drafting letters of demand, statements of claim and enforcement documentation
• Preparing and filing court documents and assisting with enforcement proceedings
• Liaising with clients, debtors, courts and other relevant stakeholders
• Conducting legal research and assisting with court briefs and matter preparation
• Maintaining accurate file records and case management systems

Who Will Fit This Opportunity?

• 2+ years’ experience as a Paralegal, ideally within litigation or debt recovery
• Law students with at least 2 years remaining on their degree are encouraged to apply
• Experience with Queensland and Federal Court systems is highly regarded
• Background in conveyancing, banking and finance or financial services will also be considered
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and work effectively within a team
